Kaltura Summer Updates

Kaltura will be going through a series of necessary updates this summer.

Phase 1:

Beginning on the evening of July 7, we will be updating the Canvas integration for Kaltura to bring it up to the latest version. Users shouldn't notice much of a difference other than My Media will now be located on the Canvas global navigation bar. Previously, My Media was available inside of your courses along with Media Gallery. Media Gallery will remain in the same location within your courses. At some point in the future, the Commons icon may be removed from the global navigation menu, but Commons will still be available within courses by clicking the Import from Commons button on the right side of your course's home screen.

Phase 2:

Beginning on July 21, we will be updating the Kaltura player that is used for playing videos in Mediaspace.  This is necessary to bring it up to the latest version that will receive all future updates.  More information about the new player can be found in this article on the Kaltura website.  We will be updating the players in Canvas the week of August 14.

Phase 3:

Later this summer will will be introducing additional features such as the ability to upload multiple videos at once as well as the ability to import channel content.  Stay tuned for additional information.
