September 18-19, 2026: A tradition at Baylor since 1960, Family Weekend strives to help families of Baylor students become better acquainted with the University and its beloved traditions.

Baylor University's Armstrong Browning Library & Museum will mark its 75th anniversary during Family Weekend with a two-day schedule of events honoring three-quarters of a century as the premier global center for research on Victorian poets Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Browning. Featuring an Academic Symposium with scholars from around the world on September 17-18 and an evening Community Celebration on Friday, September 18, 2026, the festivities recall the library's historic 1951 dedication while looking forward to its next era of scholarly and public engagement.

Since 1953, Dr Pepper Hour has been a long-standing tradition of the Student Union. Each week students, faculty and staff to come together and socialize while enjoying a refreshing Dr Pepper float. Dr Pepper Hour is held every Tuesday during the academic year between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the Barfield Drawing Room of the BDSC.

Author, editor and Baylor alumna Kara E. Nelson will join Rev. Dr. Malcom Foley, Special Advisor to the President for Campus Engagement, in a conversation about Nelson’s new Baylor University Press publication, “Black at Baylor: Vital Voices of the First Generation,” on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Noon (CDT) in the Hankamer Treasure Room of the Armstrong Browning Library & Museum on the campus of Baylor University and via Zoom Webinar. A reception, including a book sale and signing, will follow the discussion in the Cox Reception Hall. This event is free and open to the public. 

From Friday movie nights to Blacklight Bowling; from live concerts to "coffee and canvas" events, Sundown Sessions at the SUB are university-sponsored events tailored to give BU students fun activities to participate in on campus every Friday and Saturday night during the school year.  Sundown Sessions are free to all students.
