Kaltura Captioning Service Change

On December 10, 2024, Baylor’s Kaltura video platform will transition our Automated Speech Recognition (ASR) services, which power captioning in videos, from a third-party vendor to Kaltura’s own services. Users should not notice any service interruption or material changes.

This change will allow for improved service and support for captions while keeping all data and transcription analysis more secure by containing it entirely within our Kaltura environment. Moving to Kaltura’s native service also means we will benefit from Kaltura’s continued innovation, leading to new features, enhancements, and improvements going forward.
