Name Pronunciation Feature

Canvas has released a new Name Pronunciation feature, allowing users to add phonetic pronunciation to their profiles. This addition aims to foster better communication and inclusivity within the platform. To utilize this feature, users can edit their profiles and enter the desired pronunciation in the Name Pronunciation field. Even though users cannot edit their names, they can still update the Name Pronunciation field to include a preferred name if desired.

Once saved, the pronunciation appears on the user's profile page, providing clarity on how to correctly say their name. This enhancement is part of Canvas’s ongoing effort to improve user experience and ensure that all members of the academic community are addressed correctly and respectfully.
