Microsoft Launches Unified Education LTI

August 5, 2025

Microsoft Education has officially launched the public preview of its new Microsoft 365 LTI® tool, streamlining how faculty interact with Microsoft tools inside their Learning Management Systems (LMS). This update replaces the legacy Teams Meetings and Teams Classes LTI tools, which will be retired. Baylor will be replacing it with the new unified Microsoft 365 LTI tool on or around August 19, 2025. The new tool called Microsoft Education can be added to your course navigation menu.

🎯 What’s New for Faculty?

The new Microsoft 365 LTI brings together popular education tools—Assignments, OneNote Class Notebooks, OneDrive, Reflect, Teams, and Teams Meetings—into a single integration. Faculty can now:

  • Create and manage assignments directly in their LMS
  • Schedule and join Teams meetings without leaving their course
  • Access and organize OneDrive files within LMS modules
  • Launch Class Notebooks with automatic rostering
  • Use Reflect for student wellbeing check-ins
  • Benefit from AI-enhanced grading and feedback tools
