Turnitin LTI Upgrade
Based on recommendations by Turnitin, Baylor will be making the move to Turnitin's new LTI 1.3 on or around May 15, 2025. This move provides an improved user interface, additional security improvements as well as additional enhancements such as roster syncing, easier assignment creation, and better grade pass back service.
Important Notes:
- There will be no changes to the Turnitin Plagiarism Framework built into Canvas Assignments. If that is how you use Turnitin, nothing will change for you.
- Turnitin LTI 1.3 assignments are not currently recommended for use in Blueprint Courses.
If you use the Turnitin LTI (i.e. via the External Tool assignment option in Canvas), then you will need to review the new workflow for creating an assignment here:

If you regularly copy old courses/assignments rest assured that once the LTI 1.3 integration is enabled for our Canvas environment, LTI 1.1 assignments will be converted to LTI 1.3 assignments when copied into your new course. Old LTI 1.1 assignments can still be accessed in previous courses. More information can be found here:
