Canvas Course Data Backup Reminders

Instructure has released a new Backup Reminder feature that will assist faculty in keeping Canvas data backups up to date. The new feature, which is now enabled in Baylor's Canvas instance, will add an exclamation point icon to course cards on the Canvas Dashboard. When selected, the icon will display a popup showing the amount of time since a course export has been performed for that course and the amount of time since the gradebook has been exported for that course. This popup will also have links to take faculty straight to the pages where these actions can be performed.

As a reminder, ITS encourages all faculty to save backups of their Canvas gradebook and quizzes in case of a technical disruption. It is advised that faculty plan to download their gradebooks by midterms and again before finals. Visit Baylor's Teaching During Disruptions page for additional information and instructions.
