Help Shape the Future of Canvas
Faculty can review Instructure’s product plans, vote on proposed priorities, share feedback, and volunteer to test features through the new Collaborative Roadmaps portal.
Instructure has launched its new Collaborative Roadmaps, giving faculty and other members of the Canvas community a more direct way to influence the future development of Canvas and other Instructure products.
Visit the Canvas Collaborative Roadmap to review current initiatives, vote on priorities, and share your feedback.
The roadmaps provide visibility into features and improvements that Instructure is considering, actively developing, preparing to release, or has recently released. More importantly, they allow educators to share how proposed changes would affect their teaching and students.
Faculty can participate in several ways:
- Vote on priorities. Rate proposed initiatives as “Must Have,” “Nice to Have,” or “Not Interested.” Faculty are encouraged to explain their ratings so Instructure’s product teams can better understand the needs and use cases behind each vote.
- Share feedback and use cases. Add comments describing specific teaching challenges, workflows, or improvements that a proposed feature could address.
- Participate in product development. Volunteer for experimentation opportunities that help Instructure explore possible solutions or apply for Early Adopter Programs that provide access to features during testing.
- Track progress. Follow initiatives as they move through four stages: Under Consideration, Active Development, Coming Soon, and Released.
Faculty experience and feedback can help Instructure understand which improvements would make the greatest difference in teaching and learning. Baylor faculty who have ideas for improving Canvas—or who want greater visibility into what Instructure is planning—are encouraged to explore the roadmap and participate.
Faculty can also visit Instructure’s broader Product Connection page for product news, roadmap recaps, known issues, and roadmaps for other Instructure products.
