Kaltura Theming Design System Coming August 17

August 13, 2026

Ahead of the start of the Fall Semester, Baylor will be enabling Kaltura's Theming Design System, which overhauls the look and feel of the video platform across Mediaspace and the Canvas integration. The changes are extensive, but this article highlights a few high-impact areas. Links for more information are included at the end.

My Media

My Media has been redesigned with a modern, card-based layout that makes it easier to browse and manage your content at a glance. Each media card includes quick access to common actions, while powerful search and filtering tools help you quickly find exactly what you're looking for. You'll also notice a refreshed navigation experience throughout My Media. Many actions that were previously located in drop-down menus are now available through convenient three-dot menus on each media card, making common tasks easier to find. My Media also now supports folders for deeper organization.

Managing multiple items is now more streamlined. Simply select one or more media items to reveal bulk actions such as publishing, deleting, adding content to playlists, or managing collaborators. Uploading videos has become more efficient with a redesigned upload workflow. You can upload one or many files at once, edit metadata during the upload process, and publish multiple items in bulk all from the same place.

Sharing Media

Publishing your videos has never been easier. You can share media from the three-dot menu on each individual video in My Media, or from the same menu on each video's Media Page. Embedding videos from Mediaspace now also supports responsive embeds for a more device-friendly experience. Whether you're sharing a video with one person or several, the new workflow makes publishing faster, more intuitive, and easier to manage.

Mediaspace

Mediaspace will also be revamped with an updated home page that can help you find where you need to go in the Kaltura platform. Video content from across the university can be accessed in Public Media and BU Media. In addition, a new FAQ page will be added at mediaspace.baylor.edu/help.
