This will open a form where you can describe your issue and submit a ticket to the Baylor Helpdesk. Please be as detailed as possible when describing your issue to assist in a swift resolution to the problem.

Recycle Bin

The Recycle Bin has been enabled in Kaltura. Any videos deleted manually by a user will be retained in the Recycle Bin for 30 days before final deletion. Any item in the Recycle Bin can be restored to My Media. For more information on using the Recycle Bin, see the Kaltura 101 LibGuide.

Note: This does not apply to videos deleted in accordance with our Video Retention Policy.

YouTube Kaltura Entries and Captions

Earlier this year we reported that the ability to add YouTube videos to Kaltura had been disabled due to a lack of support for adding captions. This feature has been re-enabled in order to preserve the function of existing YouTube entries in the Kaltura system, but it is now recommended new YouTube videos be added to Canvas directly from the YouTube LTI. Captions are still not supported on YouTube videos added to Kaltura.

As a reminder, Baylor provides captions for all videos uploaded to Kaltura in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. English language captions are automatically generated and will represent moderate accuracy, but can sometimes struggle with proper nouns and technical terminology. Faculty are strongly advised to edit video captions to improve accuracy. For more information on editing captions, see the Captions section of the Kaltura 101 LibGuide.

Video captions should not be deleted under any circumstances. If caption files have been deleted from your videos, contact the Baylor Helpdesk for assistance in getting videos re-captioned.
